Pat Oldham grew up in an outdoor loving family in Colorado. Her artistic talent and love of the outdoors have intertwined throughout her life. In 1966, she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Jewelry and Silversmithing at the University of Kansas.
She has drawn since early childhood. She has explored several mediums, but mostly enjoys pastels for their rich color possibilities. Her favorite subjects are drawn from nature and she particularly enjoys and portrays the comic side of animals. For her, they reflect both the beauty of their maker while revealing his sense of humor.
Her latest project was writing and illustrating a book about an old horse and a colt, entitled The Veteran and the Colt. It is appropriate for any child or adult who never outgrew their love of horses.
Pat and her husband live in Belleville with their dog, Zack.
